DMCA and copyright

We host no files

DouyinVid stores no videos, images or audio. When someone pastes a link, the file streams directly from Douyin's own servers through our connection to their browser and is then gone. There is no archive, no cache of media and no search index of anyone's content.

This matters for a takedown request: there is no copy on our side to delete. Removing a video from the internet means removing it at Douyin, where it is actually hosted.

What we can do

If a specific Douyin post is the subject of a valid notice, we can block that post's identifier so our tool refuses to process it. We will act on properly formed notices within five working days.

Sending a notice

Email [email protected] with DMCA in the subject line and include all of the following:

Your full name, postal address, telephone number and email address; a clear description of the copyrighted work; the exact Douyin URL of the material; a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law; a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or are authorised to act on the owner's behalf; and your physical or electronic signature.

Counter notices

If you believe a post was blocked in error, write to the same address with the same contact details, identify the material, and explain why the block was a mistake.

False claims

Filing a knowingly false takedown notice carries legal consequences. Please be sure of your claim before you send one.
